Do you dream of owning your own business, and are you ready to take the deep dive into business feasibility planning?

The FastTrac® NewVenture™ program helps aspiring entrepreneurs look at all aspects of their business idea, exploring the feasibility of their new venture and learning how to develop a viable business plan. This “gold standard” business plan development program is fast-paced, interactive and energizing.

As an affiliate of Kauffman FastTrac®, the UMKC Small Business & Technology Development Center (SBTDC) offers the program in an accelerated time frame to let potential entrepreneurs get started with their businesses as soon as possible. Guest speakers and entrepreneurs bring their real-world experience to make topics come alive.

Participants develop their business plan through group activities and coaching from professional business counselors. The workbook has step-by-step activities and in-depth information. FastTrac® participants also have access to business plan and financial templates online. Participants don’t just learn about business, they work on their own business venture throughout the program.

Participants will learn:

The pros and cons of being an entrepreneur
Start-up issues including financial, legal, marketing and management
How to research competitors, identify target market customers and determine distribution models
To develop a business plan that determines the financial viability of the business idea

To help ensure long-term success after completion of the program, one-on-one business coaching assistance can continue at no additional cost through the UMKC SBTDC.
